Roofing Maintenance Pointers

During periods of drought, roofing is usually not on the minds of homeowners. Now that the Spring storms have begun, we are receiving calls about unexpected leaks into customers homes. We have found that many of these leaks are caused by lack of maintenance on the roof and gutters. We have found gutters that are filled with leaves and debris. Because of this, during the rain recent rain storms, the water was unable to flow through the gutters. The only place for the water to go was up and over the edge of the gutters. When this happened, the water was pushed into the edge of the roofing system and soffits.
